Nerves are organs that transmit and receive information throughout the body, conveying feelings, thoughts, and sensory input. Conscious activities are regulated by peripheral nerves originating from the spine, housing the nervous system. Unconscious functions, such as heartbeat and breathing, are governed by the autonomic nervous system. Through meditation or deep relaxation, one can gain conscious control over this system. Nerves play various roles in our body's functional activities and can be likened to the electrical system of our body. If our circuits become overloaded due to excessive tension, it can impact our overall functioning. This tension often arises from anxiety about the future, concerns that our projects won't come to fruition, and difficulties in communication. When our nerves become frazzled or we feel on edge, it reflects our heightened sensitivity. Despite past hurts, we can learn to trust others and life itself.

My nervous system comprises nerves and nerve centers responsible for coordinating and commanding various parts of my body, receiving sensory, psychic, and intellectual information. It is primarily connected to my thoughts and the energetic or mental aspects of my being. It serves as the physical plane's electrical connection system, translating thoughts into actions in the world.

It is the electrical connection system on the physical plane that allows my thoughts to become action in this world.

Zonal dermatitis is an infectious skin condition characterized by an extremely painful rash along the path of a sensory nerve. It may occur in individuals who previously had chickenpox. The pain associated with this skin condition is spontaneous and akin to a burn. Refer to skin problems and add that individuals experiencing zonal dermatitis currently harbor intense anger toward a specific situation or person. They may feel as though they are crawling or unable to lead the life they desire, experiencing deep bitterness. This condition signifies an urgent message from their body, as their nervous system becomes increasingly affected by their way of coping with the situation. Engaging in a forgiveness exercise, as suggested at the end of this book, may be beneficial.

Bell's Disease, also known as Bell's Paralysis, is a facial paralysis affecting one side of the face due to damage to the facial nerve. In this condition, attempting to close the eye on the paralyzed side results in the eyelid remaining open. It can be seen as a response to something that confronts the affected person but is avoided. Refer to the definition of paralysis and facial problems for further insights.

Leprosy is an infectious disease characterized by small pigmented skin spots and nervous disorders. Lesions form ring shapes around lighter areas of skin. These patches are often numb. Nerve disorders lead to deformities, particularly hooked fingers. Early signs include muscle atrophy. Another form affects the eyebrows and beard but spares the scalp. Leprosy can evoke self-rejection and feelings of inadequacy, impurity, and unworthiness. It can derail life plans and make one feel powerless against external events. While leprosy is controlled in some regions, affected individuals often feel ashamed and reluctant to admit it. Recognizing this shame and realizing it's a mental construct is crucial. It's time to reconnect with your inner worth. Start by complimenting yourself and listing your talents, abilities, and the positive impact you have on your environment.
