The diaphragm is a large muscular wall separating the upper part (lungs, heart) from the lower part (liver, stomach, intestines, etc.) of the body. It symbolizes breath, the ability to fully surrender through deep breathing. Deep breathing thrives when I am relaxed and open to life. Tensions in the diaphragm arise when I repress, inhibit, or block liberating energies beneficial to me. Certain life situations may hinder the free expression of my feelings and thoughts. My way of life may prevent me from truly being myself, resulting in shallow and limited breathing.
The diaphragm's significance traces back to the fetus's early movements, where I discovered the existence of something beyond myself. As an adult, tension in this area arises when exchanges between my inner and outer worlds cause conflicts, especially if I engage in superficial, depthless activities. I must recognize that life offers me many blessings. I no longer need to needlessly suppress myself. The diaphragm is a vital muscle that, when I breathe deeply, enables me to connect with my inner self and the universe's energy.
I now view life from a significantly different perspective. I freely express my thoughts, feelings, and deepest emotions here and now.
