Tetany manifests as muscle and nerve contractions, primarily affecting the extremities. It causes twitching in the hands, feet, and muscles. This condition results from hyperexcitability and typically occurs during setbacks. During severe episodes, the fingers may clench, with the thumb folding inward as if isolating itself. This gesture may reflect a desire to withdraw from the world, potentially even a subconscious wish for death due to a loss of joy in life. To manage tetany, I must learn self-control, eliminate negative thoughts, and minimize the impact of adversities.
