Sleepwalking, often observed in children and adolescents, involves movements during sleep with normal coordination, and sometimes even the utterance of coherent sentences. The sleepwalker typically returns to bed autonomously, with no memory of the episode the next day. While sleepwalking may not be problematic for the individual, it can be disconcerting for those living with them. These episodes usually occur during intense periods of sleep, where the boundaries between the physical and dream worlds blur. It is more common in individuals with vivid imaginations who struggle to fulfill their desires while awake.
As a sleepwalker, I may experience inner tension, often unconsciously, and may use sleepwalking as a way to release that tension. At times, I may feel disconnected from my physical body, directing it from an "out-of-body" state. This enables me to navigate with closed eyes, as I perceive obstacles through my astral body's vision. To reduce sleepwalking episodes, it is advisable to communicate my experiences with a spouse, parents, a friend, or through writing. This can help achieve inner calm and normalize sleep patterns.
